There are 9 different massage modalities that you can offer your clients through the Blys platform.


Some modalities require specialised qualifications (in addition to the standard massage therapy qualification) and special equipment (in addition to standard equipment requirements).


As per our Licence Agreement and to ensure a great experience for your clients you are required to hold relevant qualifications for the services you offer. Please refer to the below table for more information.

Relaxation / Swedish Massage
The main goal of this massage is to relax the client fully. You would typically use long strokes that create a nice overall flow over the whole body.

  • Diploma in Remedial Massage or;
  • International equivalent qualification 

Deep Tissue / Remedial Massage

This is still a full-body massage, but using a bit more pressure. You can target more trigger points and really aim to get those knots out while still making the client feel like you covered the entire body.


  • Massage table or chair (if required)
  • Fresh towels
  • Natural massage oil


  • A minimum of Certificate IV in Massage Therapy or;
  • Diploma in Remedial Massage or;
  • International equivalent qualification
Sports Massage
Typically, the goal for this modality of massage is to help with recurring tightness or problems due to sports, training, or everyday activity and use. You might do some assessments before and after, some stretches, and maybe some active release techniques during the massage. The client may want the massage targeted specifically to those problem areas as opposed to getting to the entire body.

  • A minimum of Certificate IV in Massage Therapy or;
  • Diploma in Remedial Massage or;
  • International equivalent qualification

Pregnancy Massage
This type of massage is for women who are more than 12 weeks pregnant and is performed while the client is lying on their side. It’s best to make the client comfortable using pillows under the head and in between the legs. You should avoid using essential oils and only use a lighter pressure avoiding trigger points altogether.

  • Pillows or extra towels to prop the client up
  • A minimum of Certificate IV in Massage Therapy or;
  • Diploma in Remedial Massage or;
  • International equivalent qualification

Lymphatic Drainage
A gentle massage that works to effectively move waste fluid around the body and support the normal functioning of the immune system by using light and rhythmic hand movements that stimulate the lymph nodes.

  • Fresh towels

  • A minimum of Certificate IV in Massage Therapy or;
  • Diploma in Remedial Massage or;
  • International equivalent qualification



Aromatherapy
A gentle and relaxing massage that includes the use of essential oils. The aromas from the essential oils help calm the mind, relax the body and promote better sleep.



  • Massage table or chair (if required)
  • Fresh towels
  • Natural massage oil
  • High-quality essential oils
  • A minimum of Certificate IV in Massage Therapy or;
  • Diploma in Remedial Massage or;
  • International equivalent qualification

Hot Stone Massage
A combination of warm essential oils, long flowing strokes and weighted stones are used to break down muscle tension and stress, encourage blood flow and stimulate circulation in the body.

  • Hot stones and hot stone heater.
  • Certificate in Hot Stone Massage from a certifieinstitution plus;
  • A minimum of Certificate IV in Massage Therapy or;
  • Diploma in Remedial Massage or;
  • International equivalent qualification

CuppingAn ancient form of alternative medicine involves the use of suction cups on the back. The suction increases blood flow to the areas where the cups are placed which helps promote relaxation and healing and reduces pain and inflammation.

  • Cupping kit

  • Certificate in Cupping from a certified institution plus;
  • A minimum of Certificate IV in Massage Therapy or;
  • Diploma in Remedial Massage or;
  • International equivalent qualification

ReflexologyA type of therapy that uses gentle pressure on specific points along the feet, hands and ears to restore balance, relieve stress, stimulate the nervous system and promote better sleep.

  • A minimum of Certificate IV in Massage Therapy or;
  • Diploma in Remedial Massage or;

  • Log into your account via the app or website
  • Head to the qualifications tab under the business section to upload your documents
  • Then head to the services tab
  • Use the toggles to turn the services you'd like to offer ON
  • Make sure your profile is switched to ONLINE
