What do I need to start offering hair and/or makeup services on the Blys platform?
Equipment:
- Professional hair and / or makeup kit
- If you're a hairdresser, for hair-cutting services, you'll also need to bring a towel or tarp that is able to cover the floor to collect hair trimmings
- Smartphone (iPhone or Android)
Documentation:
- Hairstylists and makeup artists: Relevant qualification or minimum 6 months experience in the chosen field
- Hairdressers: Minimum of Certificate III in Hairdressing
- Photos of your work (or your professional Instagram account if you have one)
- Registered Business Number and ABN or Australian Business Number
- Your own Public Liability and Insurance (What type of insurance do I need?)
- National Police Check Certificate (How can I apply for a Police Check?)
- A photo of your state-issued photo ID
- A recent profile photo to be uploaded to your profile

What do I need to start offering hair and/or makeup services on the Blys platform?

- Valid state-issued cosmetology license
- Valid state-issued business license (for makeup)
- Your Professional Liability Insurance policy
- A photo of your state-issued photo ID
- A recent profile image is to be uploaded to your Blys provider account
- Photos of your work (or your professional Instagram account if you have one)
How can I upload 'my kit' and 'my portfolio' to my profile page?
Login to your Blys Pro account via your desktop and go to Pro Dashboard. Click on the 'Profile' tab and scroll down until you see 'My Kit'. In this section, you can write up to 500 words explaining what kinds of tools and products you use. Just underneath this section, you'll then see 'My Portfolio'. Use the 'Upload Image' button to upload a maximum of 20 photos of your work.
This information will feature on your public profile page so it’s a great opportunity for you to showcase your hair & makeup skills to potential clients.
